World AIDS Day is held on the 1st December each year and is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died. The organizing team under the guidance of Dr Puneet Ohri, Professor and head, Department of community Medicine SGRRIM&HS comprised of Dr Kajal Gupta, Dr Megha Luthra, Dr Ashwani Sharma, Dr Sai Chandan Das, Dr Neha Upadhyay, Dr Soumya Mohanty, Dr Vani Sharma and Dr B.Sudha Spandana, and all the postgraduate students celebrated World Aids Day on 1st December. A CME was organized in collaboration with Uttarakhand Association for Positive people living with HIV/ AIDS. The necessary logistic support was provided by the departmental staff which was vital to this event. The event was a huge success with overwhelming participation from the MBBS undergraduate students of batch 2019 and 2020. The Urban and rural centers associated with the Department of Community Medicine SGRRIM&HS also conducted various activities in the OPD and in the community.

In the department
- Sensitization of the undergraduate medical students was done by the Uttarakhand Association for Positive people living with HIV/ AIDS field staff and community medicine PG student and faculty.
- There was also a Presentation on World AIDS DAY theme by Dr Ansar, 2nd year PG student in the department on 1/12/2021. The seminar was attended by Prof A.K Mehta Sir and Dr. Tanvi (PG 2nd year from dept of Dermatology) along with other faculties from Community Medicine dept.
In RHTC/UHTC
- 1) Video Demonstration in the OPD areas
- 2) Counselling sessions in OPD area as well as in the field practice area.
- 3) Health talk in the OPD area as well as in the field practice area.
