Introduction

OTORHINOLARYNGOLOGY(ENT) DEPARTMENT at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital consists of 

• 5 Consultants (Faculty members).
• 4 Senior Residents 
• 6 Post graduate Students.
• 3 Audiology and Speech Language Pathologists.
• 1 Minor OT Technician
• 3 OPD attendants
• 1 Clerk

 Infrastructure

ENT department consists of a dedicated 6 days working OPD and OT, and ENT ward with 40 beds and has all the state of art facilities and labs comprising of -

• Rhinomanometry lab first and only lab  in Uttarakhand 
• Vestibular lab & Endoscopy room for all types of nasal and laryngeal endoscopy and vestibular dysfunction evaluation. 
• Audiometry ,OAE& BERA  facilities for hearing evaluation and neonatal deafness screening purposes. 
• Speech therapy & audio vestibular rehabilitation room.
• Temporal bone dissection lab for postgraduate teaching.

UNIQUE SERVICES PROVIDED BY ENT DEPARTMENT

• Department has been doing all routine otorhinolaryngology surgeries.
• More than 100 Cochlear implant surgeries have been done in the department. First institute of Uttarakhand  to do cochlear implant surgeries by Veria technique.
• Working in conjunction with government of India for National program for control of deafness 
• First department in Uttarakhand to do navigation guided skull base surgeries along with neurosurgery department 
• All advanced Head and neck oncosurgeries and thyroid surgeries are being done 
• First department  of Uttarakhand  having both CO2 and Diode LASER and first to do LASER excision of Glomus tumor
• Endoscopic  rigid fibreoptic bronchoscopes
