SPECIALISTS DEEPLY DISCUSS THE HAZARDOUS EFFECTS OF LEAD

NATIONAL CME ON RECENT ADVANCES IN BIOCHEMISTRY-2014, ORGANISED AT SGRR INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES, PATEL NAGAR, DEHRADUN

NATIONAL REFERRAL CENTRE FOR LEAD PROJECT INITIATED AT BIOCHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT

A One Day National CME was organized by the Biochemistry Deptt of Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical and Health Sciences. The Topic of the National CME was Recent Advances in Biochemistry-2014 and Inauguration of National Referral Centre for Lead Project (Under the Aegis of SGRR Education Mission and Uttarakhand Branch of ACBI), in which the specialists expressed concern over the harmful effects of Lead over Human body and life.

On Tuesday, the National Lead lab was inaugurated at the Biochemistry Deptt. The lab was inaugurated jointly by the Chief Guest HNB Medical University’s Vice-Chancellor PadamShree Prof. M.C.Pant, Guest of Honour: Chief Advisor, Quality Council of India (Q.C.I.) & National Referral Centre for Lead Project in India Prof. T. Venkatesh and President Indian Society for Lead Awareness and Research Prof. A.A. Mahdi and SGRR Institute of Medical and Health Sciences Principal Dr. N.K. Singh and HOD Biochemistry Dr. R. K. Singh.

H.O.D. of Biochemistry Deptt. Prof. R.K.Singh informed that the Lead Care-2 Machine is being operated in the lab and we will be testing the toxicity of Lead. The sample of blood will be taken and Lead quantity will be estimated them. On the basis of these reports, the doctors will be having their opinion and will provide their medical advice accordingly. Dr. Singh said that in Uttarakhand State, the quantity of Lead is too much. In the Biochemistry Deptt of our Medical Institution, this lab is prove to be a milestone in the patient’s treatment. The occasion was also marked by the auspicious presence of Biochemistry Deptt’s Dr. R. K. Shrivastava, Dr. Tariq Masood, Dr. Kiran Bhat, Dr. Sumita Sharma, Dr. Rajeev S. Kushwaha, Dr. Narottam Sharma, Dr. Shivani Sailwal, etc.
