Dehradun. A National Conference was organized at SGRR Medical College jointly by Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences and Dehradun branch of Indian Academy of Pediatrics. More than 1,000 doctors from 8 states of India reached Shri Guru Ram Rai Medical College to participate in the 11th North Zone Pedicon-2022. This is for the very first time in Uttarakhand when such a large number of Pediatricians have gathered from all over India under one roof.
On Saturday, 24th September 2022, at the auditorium of Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, the medical session was begun by National President of Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP)-2022 Dr. Ramesh Kumar. He gave detailed information on significance and effects of antibiotic drugs in cases of Chest and breathing diseases. He while citing the research assignments done on international levels, advised to minimize the use of antibiotics. He said that use of medicines by people (self-medication) is fatal. He said many of the antibiotics have become useless rendering a situation that the doctors are left with a very limited choice of antibiotics which is a serious issue.
The theme of this National Conference was ‘Pedia Dynamics & Kinetics’, Pediatricians from all over India shared figures, experiences and knowledge on prevention and treatment of pedia diseases. More than 400 Research Papers on themes related to diseases of children, their prevention and treatment from all over the world were also presented. The objective of this national conference is to dissipate knowledge on most modern treatment methods of children’s diseases and to exchange knowledge with one another for better treatment of children all over India.
National President of Indian Academy of Pediatrics (I.A.P.)-2021, Dr. Piyush Gupta in his address to the gathering provided information on medical, scientific and practical aspects of nutrition of children and babies. He said that in figures of malnutrition in many states of India is alarming. Child malnutrition and child development are alarming on international levels also. Pediatricians play a key role in the overall development of children along with parents and governments of respective countries. All must do collective efforts for the better health of the children.
In the evening, a session of the programme was organized at Hotel L.P. Villas which was initiated by Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya. Cabinet Minister of Women & Child Welfare, Govt. of Uttarakhand, Rekha Arya while addressing the gathering the occasion, the role of doctors is extremely significant in adhering a correct direction to the society. The medical profession is associated with service of humanity. She extended thanks and gratitude to all the doctors of North Zone of Indian Academy of Pediatrics who came to Dehradun to participate in this National Conference.
President of Uttarkhand unit of Indian Academy of Pediatrics (I.A.P.), Dr. Rajiv Shrivastava welcomed and expressed gratitude towards all the pediatricians who reached from all over India for their auspicious presence. President of Dehradun branch of I.A.P., Dr. Sumit Vohra said that it’s a matter of pride for I.A.P. Dehradun that this hi profile programme could be organized in capital Dehradun of the Devbhoomi (land of the angels) Uttarakhand. He appreciated and thanked all the colleague doctors on the successful organizing of this National Conference.
This Conference was organized successfully under the guidance of Organizing Chairperson Dr. Harinder Singh, Hony. Secretary General Dr. Vineet Saxena with the efforts of Organizing secretary Dr. Utkarsh Sharma, Dr. Shruti Kumar, Dr. Ashish Sethi, Dr. Tanvi Khanna, Dr. Ashank Aeran and all the members of Indian Academy of Pediatrics Uttarakhand Chapter and Dehradun branch.
