A colourful programme was organized by Shri Guru Ram Rai University’s School of Paramedical Sciences with utmost enthusiasm. In the programme, colourful cultural presentations were also organized by the students. The specialists of radiology explained the core of radiology. For the year 2022, the theme of international Radiology Day is ‘Radiographers at the fore front of Patient Safety’.
On Thursday, the programme was organized at the premises of Shri Guru Ram Rai School of Paramedical Sciences. The programme was initiated by lamp lightening by Chief Guest HOD, Deptt. of Radiology, Shri Mahant Indiresh hospital, Dr. Rajiv Azad, Guest of Honour, Professor, Radiology, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dr. Rajender Srivastava, Principal, SGRR College of Paramedical, Kotdwar, Dr. Girish Uniyal and Dean, Shri Guru Ram Rai School of Paramedical Sciences, Dr. Malvika Singh jointly.
While addressing the gathering at the occasion, Chief Guest Dr. Rajiv Azad said that after Radiology came into being, drastic developments have come in the discipline of medical sciences. Radiology is playing a significant role in the accurate diagnosis of the diseases of the patients. The reports of Radiology play an important role in the decision of the doctor while treating the patient.
Poster and Model making competitions on the themes related to Radiology were also organized during the programme. In the Poster Competition, First Prize won by the team of Anubhav Rai, Ayushi Prasad, Vandana Gusain and Soniya Rawat while in Model Competition, the team of Shivangi Rawat, Salih Yunus and Himani Bisht stood first. In the Quiz Competition, Arti Bisht emerged victorious.
Anjali Semwal, a student of BMRIT of SGRR School of Paramedical Sciences threw light over the historical aspect and ultra modern techniques of Radiology.
Dr. Malvika Singh in her address said that the students of radiology must update themselves as per the recent demands in the market. She said that every year International Radiology Day is celebrated every year in the memory and honour of Sir Wilhem Konard Roentgen, the great German scientist who invented X-Rays and was awarded Nobel Prize. She said that doctors of all the specialities depend on radiologists to diagnose the diseases of their patients and then treat accordingly.
