15th May 2023. Today a One Day Workshop was organized at Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences (SGRRIM&HS) by its Medical Education Unit (M.E.U.). The title of the workshop was ‘Assessment Tool-MCQ’. While beginning the workshop, Principal, SGRRIM&HS, Dr. Prof. Ram Kumar Verma said that the M.E.U. of the Medical College organizes such workshops on a regular basis to acquaint the faculty doctors with the ultramodern progress in the medical education discipline.
While addressing the gathering at the workshop, Coordinators of Medical Education Unit of SGRRIM&HS, Dr. Prof. Puneet Ohri & Dr. Prof. Anjali Chaudhari and Organizing Secretary of the Workshop, Dr. Prof. Megha Luthra, said that the Medical Education Unit of the Medical College has been making constant efforts to update the faculties as well as medical students with the recent advancements in the Medical Education field taking place world over. They said that the title of the Workshop is ‘Assessment TOOL-MCQ’ which means use of multiple choice questions as an assessment tool and understanding its significance. They said that in every discipline of education, the multiple choice questions are compulsory and quite significant, Medical Education discipline is also not untouched with it. They said the multiple choice questions are designed by intellectuals to carry out accurate evaluation of the knowledge and talent of the students. They said that nowadays multiple choice questions are a part of curriculum of every course at all institutions including our medical college. They explained that multiple choice questions are a new dimension in medical education which is being followed the world over. They said that the objective of this workshop is train and equip the medical faculties will the skill of designing multiple choice questions which can do accurate evaluation of the medical students.
In the Workshop, Guest Speakers from C.M.C., Ludhiana, Dr. Dinesh Kumar Badiyal, Dr. Monika Sharma and Dr. Anjali Jain dissipated knowledge about the various aspects of multiple choice questions. They also answered the questions of the participants and satisfied their curiosity. A Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. Anjali Chaudhari More than thirty (30) senior faculties of Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences participated in the workshop. A lot of enthusiasm was noticed among the participants in regard to this workshop.
